Acting in Concert

Describes the actions of a group of investors working together to achieve a particular goal, for example to influence a company's activities. Acting in concert is illegal if each investor buys a shareholding below the level at which it must be publicly declared in order that the group's combined holding will enable it to further its aims. This is known colloquially as a concert party.
