Mutual Fund
A portfolio of securities professionally managed on behalf of a group of investors. Individual investors own a percentage of the value of the fund based on the number of units they buy and share the fund's gains or losses. Assets can include stock, debt or other financial instruments. Sometimes referred to as a unit trust.
