Book Value

Book value has two meanings. It can mean the value at which individual assets are listed in the balance sheet of a company, i.e. the purchase price minus subsequent depreciation. It can also refer to the net asset value of an entire company, which is total assets minus liabilities and intangible assets such goodwill.
